‘Grumpy Gramps’ comes from having been around the walks of life now for a good long time and since my grandkids once in a while say ‘oh, oh, Gramps/Papa is grumpy’ – well it just seemed to be fitting to call these spouts of ‘getting something off my chest’ as coming from ‘Grumpy Gramps’.

As I have stated before, I live right near the very heart or center of this grand country we call the United States and because of my address I rely on a lot of information from the internet, magazines (yes there are still some of us that read these), television news networks and even a few newspapers.

As I watched the events in Dallas unfold last night I was horrified over not one, but two events taking place with one obviously being the sniper(s) shooting at Dallas Law Enforcement like fish in a bucket.  But number two was how quickly some came to conclusions as to who might be involved.

As much as I appreciated the way the Dallas Officials were handling the peaceful protest (which is perfectly legal in our country) they made the first misstep of the evening by throwing out the picture of a citizen carrying an assault weapon over his shoulder, a ‘black’ citizen – when they had no clue who the individuals were shooting at them.

My horror came on how quickly certain news outlets (and most can guess or imagine which ones) were so quick as to blame the shootings on the ‘Black Lives Matter’ movement or get this – President Obama, what they hell are they talking about.

While I do believe the movement should change the name to ‘All Lives Matter’, it is necessary to keep it the way it is for now because the demographics prove out that non-white lives are being lost at a much higher proportion than white lives are, and that just is wrong.

Blaming President Obama is wrong as well as these shooters made their own choices based on what they in their own hearts choose to do with their feelings toward the many recent shootings of non-white individuals by law enforcement and white individuals – the shooter(s) were repaying hate/distrust with hate/distrust, and that my friends is just plain wrong.

Where do we go from here, I’m not really sure except that we need to take a deep breath and get to the numb skulls who have already tainted the truth of the shootings by blaming a much larger group when the shootings were done by individuals making individual choices based on the hate/frustration built up in their own individual hearts.

Possible not the final time I may talk about this major tragedy in Dallas – but for now it just will have to do and hopefully in the meantime all of us, and I do mean all of us must work much harder at the willingness to come together and work at the future of this grand country we are blessed to live in that we call the United States, because right now the word united is nowhere near the truth and without that unity this country will eventually roll down the hill of existence just as the Roman and Greek empires did in our world’s historical past.

For today ‘Grumpy Gramps’ says “take a deep breath folks, pray in your spiritual design and relax so we can work at bringing back the ‘unity’ in the country named ‘United States’.

There you have it, another ‘Grumpy Gramps’ and while many may be spewing about things they don’t like or see has being wrong – many times it will be just ‘getting it off my chest’ type of sharing.  So enjoy, think about it and if you feel the need or want – send me a comment or two and ‘Grumpy Gramps’ promises to get back to you.
