GIVING ONE A CHANCE TO SUCCEED

By Winfield Scott Wulf

I am not anyone who would be called a fan of or supporter of the incoming administration and their idea of tearing down our government, our policies, our freedoms, and most importantly – our constitution.

But I will admit that, maybe,  just maybe one of his countless, laughable, unqualified members being picked to lead the administration’s mess to be made, he may have picked at least one uniquely qualified for the job being appointed to.

            Dr. Mehmet Oz!!

While most in the past 25 years know him as a television personality turned barker of questionable medical cures – Dr. Oz is technically a well standing physician and cardiothoracic surgeon who was a professor emeritus at Columbia University.

How will he serve for normal citizens as administrator of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services – hopefully due to his oath as a true doctor, he will serve the people well and not just to the beckon call to strike down the services by the new administration.

I know many friends who still walk alongside me in life due to the works of a cardiologist and one in particular who was saved on the surgical table at two-days old by a cardiothoracic surgeon named Dr. Tom Donovan.

So, despite your thoughts about the incoming administration and their doings ahead, let us try and find at least a spot or two to agree on and this is possibly one of my few.

Do I support Dr. Oz – it depends. I genuinely liked the guy when he first came on the media scene with his caring attitude and concern for people plus his knowledge of medical things that would actually help others.

Now the Dr. Oz of the past 15 years, found hawking questionable medical ideas and items – not so much.

What I am leaning on is that Dr. Oz will survive and serve by the oath he took becoming a doctor, cardiologist, and surgeon to serve the people and not the wannabe dictator.
